#Glasgowisopen campaign goes live

Glasgow Life’s new consumer marketing campaign #Glasgowisopen is now live, to coincide with the official reopening of Scotland’s tourism industry.

This will position Glasgow as ready for business as well as providing inspiration for citizens to explore their city like a tourist.

Launch campaign activity will primarily focus on the local Greater Glasgow market, before extending over the weeks ahead throughout west central Scotland.

The first wave of activity will be aimed at day visitors to Glasgow and will initially focus on a younger demographic as well as the family market.

Activity will expand to wider audiences over time, moving to short break and staycation inspiration and will be guided by government policy, industry reopening status and consumer behaviour. Campaign activity will include:

  • A short inspirational film, reinforcing civic pride and ownership of the city and reassuring audiences that Glasgow is open, ready, and safe. View film here.
  • Creation of digital articles and features on People Make Glasgow channels, highlighting practical/know before you go information, Support Local, Inspire Locals and Inspire Scots.
  • PR outreach.

How you can get involved with the first wave of the campaign:

  • Follow People Make Glasgow social channels and like and share the new film.
  • Use the campaign hashtag #Glasgowisopen on your own social media and digital channels.
  • Use the suite of campaign graphic assets.
  • Let us know your reopening plans by completing the short two minute Business Reopening Register.
  • Participate in the Visitscotland “Good to Go” accreditation scheme and update your web listing to reflect this.
  • You can also download city images for your own promotions and social media posts from our library (password: Destination2020).
